Bella Solviva: Extreme Build-Glamping Edition
(EAST JORDAN, Mich)— Bella Solviva announces the build-up to a massive construction phase with its Extreme Build-Glamping Edition program. With the intense interest for what is being coined “The New Up-North”, founders Brad & Sandy Carlson are planning to bring new meaning to being “Made in Michigan” as this much-anticipated resort come to life.
Bella Solviva made onlyinyourstate.com’s list of best glamping destinations in America this month, quite an honor for a resort that is not yet open! Brad Carlson says the only way to get it open in time for this summer’s rush is using an extreme build, a take-off on the popular TV show Extreme Makeover, where nearly impossible building projects came to life in under a week. Carlson, who led numerous disaster relief teams during post-hurricane Katrina cleanup and rebuilding, is prepared for the demands this building project will bring. “The final planning stage is underway, with the build scheduled to start May 29th”, he stated.
Describing the Extreme Build as “the most exciting thing Michigan has seen in many years,” Carlson is expecting over 1,000 people, companies and organization to participate in the 4 to 5-week long build. He added, “Exciting because companies and individuals alike will have an opportunity to participate in an epic adventure of helping to build the premier glamping resort in the mid-west, if not the country.” By partnering with media, government and private industry, as well as groups and individuals from around the state, “Michigan will have a genuinely fascinating human interest story to tell,” said Carlson.
Bella Solviva is serious about the “Made in Michigan” label, seeing the ability to help create or revive industries such as tent-making for its Safari tents, restoration of vintage boats, RVs, and train coaches while promoting eco-responsible travel in the state. “We have already engaged in conversation with a variety of local vendors and farm-to-table food sources with the intent of promoting local business, and plan to expand our contact with suppliers from the surrounding communities,” said Carlson.
Individuals, families and organizations that invest time in the build will be compensated by a free membership in Bella Solviva’s Nature Escape Club, receiving credited vacation time to use toward future stays, according to Sandy Carlson. “Volunteers will also be housed and fed during what we hope will be week-long for crews and longer stays for team leads during the build,” she stated. Individuals can also elect to donate some or all of their vacation credits to their organization, providing the opportunity for group retreats.
A wide variety of talents and equipment are being sought, including loggers and excavators, building trades, interior designers, engineers, and project leaders. “People with skill sets in coordinating volunteers, food and beverage and procurement will also be a tremendous asset to this endeavor” said Mr. Carlson. Funding for development is coming in steadily through advance reservations and memberships in the resort’s Nature Escape Club, which allows folks to pre-purchasing time for future stays, in exchange for attractive discounts and perks, while locking in 2016’s low, introductory rates according to Mr. Carlson. While Carlson said they do not anticipate the need for investors, he admits the project would have moved faster had the right partner materialized. A future phase involving the development of a boutique inn with meeting & event space may offer an investment opportunity and provide more year-round functionality.
